all righty! for those of you who haven't given up on my blogging just yet... ;)
school's going well - it's busy, but that's how i like it. i've taken a lot of exams in the past few days and i have a couple more today and tomorrow...
i've been contemplating going on after Trinity and getting my masters in nursing - neonatal (or possibly pediatric) nurse practitioner. i'm not really sure how that's going to end up, but that doesn't need to be decided right now (even though I really want to decide and know right now).
i've seen tim about every other weekend since coming here which is sooo much better than summer! we went scuba diving in a quarry not too far away just before school started - it was so much fun! school's pretty of busy for both of us, so it's probably a good thing we're at different schools!
well, i'd better keep studying for my history exam.
can't wait to see mom, dad, and the boys in a couple of weeks, and everyone else in less than 2 months!
love you all,
carrie~jo

okey dokey! i'm officially pathetic! i knew it had been a while since i'd last updated you all on my life, but i didn't realize it was that long! wowsers... ok. so here's the story of my life since may 10 - the shortened version (not that it would've taken that long anyway...). i took all of my exams, did decently, came out with a semi-acceptable GPA, and went to Tim's house for the weekend since I had to stick around to play baritone for graduation anyway. We had a super-duper weekend, and I scurried on home on monday. i spent the next week or two doodling around the house cleaning, cooking, baking and whatnot before i started actually working at Prairie View. On May 10, I didn't know yet what I was doing. well, after that, i found out that i did actually get the nanny position i wanted in mississippi. the only problem was that the lady's mother-in-law got liver cancer and the whole family migrated to houston to be with her indefinitely. aka, i was no longer needed. fine. so i went home, called my DON at PV and told her i was just kidding about not coming back for the summer. i was on my way home. sigh. so yep, i started working at pv, not any particular hours, just picking up a lot of randomness for a while. then when i did actually get scheduled for normal hours, i only got 20-25 hrs a wk, so i picked up more and more hours until i generally got a 40 hr work wk in every wk. then about a month ago, strawberries started, so i picked strawberries all morning and worked other random hrs at pv. there were a few times where i worked from 10p - 6a at pv, then went straight out to the patch and picked til 11a or so, went home to sleep for a couple of hrs and went back to pv from 2:30p - 10p. super fun, let me tell you. anyway, strawberries are now done - i picked 200 flats - that a literal ton of strawberries by the way - and now we're on vacation!!! after not seeing each other for 9 wks, tim cam out on july 19. he came with us out to colorado for vacation and we're having a blast. its so much fun to watch the boys try things that they would normally never consider doing, but are simply second nature to tim. we're at doug & lois's right now - eggs are frying, fruit is being chopped, and all of the other "kids" are sleeping...go figure. so yep, we're leaving tomorrow morning, hopefully meeting grandma & grandpa vw for dinner along the way, and beginning the daunting task of unpacking. oh, ps about the nanny deal - the lady called me at the end of june and said, "hi. we're back from houston - my mom-in-law is doing a lot better. can you come out for the rest of the summer?" oofdah. i seriously considered it, but by the time i put in my 2 wks at pv and took time for vacation, it really wouldn't've been worth it. oh well. i got a raise out of the deal from pv, so it all worked out.
thanks for listening. sorry i'm pathetic. i love you all!

Hi everyone,
Now that is been a month since the last time I wrote (sorry!), I'll try to give a quick recap on life.
I'm currently really frustrated b/c I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do this summer. There's 3 weeks of school left, and, honestly, that terrifies me.
School's going well though. It's busy, but not any busier than it has been all semester. I'm super excited to go to Pella for Tulip Time to see everybody (which means I'll be crazy busy this week getting everything that's supposed to be done through Monday or Tuesday by Wed. night, but that's ok).
Oh! Tim came and surprised me on Wed night b/e they had dead week (I know, it's not fair, he only has a week of exams left). It was great (plus, he fixed my computer for me ).
It's been really nice lately, which is awesome, but it's making me stir crazy too - I'm getting sick of this little room - ready to move on to bigger and better things!
Hope to see you all in just a few days!
Love,
Carrie

happy birthday grandma!!!!! it was absolutely wonderful to be able to see you - even if it wasn't for very long...hopefully i will get to spend a little bit more time with you guys this weekend!

well, i'm back at school safe & sound & not wanting to be back at school. the 1st part of spring break wasn't too bad, but it wasn't anything to be super excited about - brass quintet went on tour thru michigan and canada where it was cold and snowy. once we got past the initial unFloridaness, it wasn't so bad :)
the end of my spring break was something to be super excited about tho :) i spent a day with tim's family. then, last friday, i drove down to purdue, ate lunch with tim, went with him to his chinese class where we apparently received quite a bit of teasing most of which tim refused to translate for me, so i'm still in the dark, but that's ok. then we drove out to iowa! based on the personal reports i either received or made up based on actions, i think my family likes tim ;) grandma told me she approves too :)
so, tim learned a little about farming on saturday - giving shots, pulling lambs, doing a few chores, stacking bales...i dinked around in the house and got some serious nursing practice in giving lambs shots ;)
we came back today, and although the trip didn't go exactly as planned all hte time, it was really good :)

love and miss you all!
